This reference explains how SADA license identity, device limits, activation, telemetry, and Super Admin access work together.
License identity
businessId groups licenses that belong to the same business. licenseId identifies one independent entitlement and is the data and access boundary for that license. Do not substitute one for the other.
Devices
A device is a persistent SADA installation or browser profile identified by its stored device ID. Opening another tab in the same browser profile does not create another device. A different browser, browser profile, or installation normally creates another device.
The maximum device count is enforced by the central API. A Super Admin can review and revoke registered devices from the SADA account administration screen. Revoking a device ends its active sessions; it does not delete the license or change its key.
Activation and first access
Use the complete plaintext activation key issued by the Licensing Authority. A license ID or a legacy hash cannot activate a new installation.
During first setup, the installer can provide the owner name, registered email, and password. That account is created as the protected Super Admin for the license. After storage setup is saved, SADA signs in with those credentials automatically and refreshes the authenticated session.
Sign-in telemetry
The Licensing Authority receives additive sign-in telemetry when the central API is configured with the shared provisioning secret. Telemetry is informational and does not grant access or revoke an activation.
Super Admin recovery
The separate Recover Super Admin access with a license flow requires the complete plaintext license key and the registered owner email. It updates the existing protected owner account when the email matches, or establishes the first owner when no owner exists. It never creates a second owner for an already-owned license.
Operator separation
The operator password for the private Licensing Authority is separate from the restaurant Super Admin password.
